Story
Ritam has worked as a courier her whole life. Starting out in the employ of a mail-Fae when she was young to help support her family, she proved herself to be extraordinarily hardworking, and as she grew bigger and stronger, she was entrusted with steadily heavier and larger loads. Even though she never attained the strength of a Guardian or Imperial, she determined to deliver anything that was asked of her. In every speck of spare time, she buried herself in levitational magic studies, until the weight of a package no longer bothered her at all. Her unfaltering dedication to a proper delivery, and the serious, quiet nature with which she executed her work, gained her the respect of her employer and peers.
Word spread through the courier grapevine of an Imperial looking for the most trustworthy and capable delivery-dragon that treasure could buy. Ritam's employer recommended her under the single condition that her new job would be part-time. But once the details of this new job were made clear, that mail-Fae was reluctant, but willing, to lose her. Ritam's new employer was Hyperion, a once-mortal Imperial with a small but undyingly loyal cast of disciples. Their task? To keep an Emperor chained up in secret, in the basement a powerful stronghold.
Ritam's main deliveries take her from the Great Furnace to the Sunbeam Ruins, delivering heavy magic restraints forged by a dragon known only as The Chainmaker. She's become (somewhat) close to Hyperion's right hand librarian, Solstice, in the time they've worked together. Though after her months-long voyage in either direction, Ritam prefers time alone to wash her travels away, and to play a few quiet melodies on her pipeflute to the setting sun. Who she plays to, or why, is unknown.

Ritam is a Pearlcatcher dragon who works to deliver messages and goods to and from other clans. Being a strong dragon with a deft claw for levitational magic, she is often charged with delivering heavier loads, such as bags of treasure or diplomatic gifts. Ritam possesses a rather strong, silent demeanour. She was never a dragon of many words, but after the death and subsequent sacrifice of her daughter, and the betrayal of her mate, she became particularly taciturn. Many a dragon has taken her disinterest in conversation for rudeness or stupidity, but the truth is that Ritam is neither of these things. For, at the end of a long day, Ritam will take out her pipeflute and play truly marvellous, albeit melancholy, music. This habit of her often attracts a crowd of listeners, but she doesn't play for admiration or even treasure. Some dragons suspect that this is a sort of homage to young Limun, yet the real reason for Ritam's nighttime performances is as seemingly unknowable as Ritam herself.
