Prophet, demon, or simply a remarkable man? Many who have met Merlin have tried to figure out the secrets of his origins, and it is said not even Arthur himself knows where his wizard came from, knowing that only one day, Merlin appeared in his father's court, swearing his life to him and naming him Pendragon. Despite assurances otherwise, only recently did Merlin himself remember the truth of his past when trying to save Avalon from the World Serpent. A god of the previous turn of the wheel, who miraculously survived Ragnarok by hiding his own power deep within himself, drawing pieces of it out as his three schools of magic he effortlessly wields in Arthur's aid. He managed to turn whatever power that he managed to keep from his kin to a physical form, then using said power to create Excalibur. As a result of his hiding, Merlin forgot himself and who he truly was, living as a servant to kings and a prophet to the world.
