Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this ominous harbinger wandered a little too far from her home lair (grxndsxn, 437722), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. Please refrain from exalting her!

Important note: Please only trade this dragon on travelling dragon threads, as opposed to places such as the Auction House.

Evening would like to receive a permanent home someday, so if you'd like to adopt her after she's been travelling long enough, just let her owner know!

Evening used to be a monstrous creature once, but it seems she's not entirely over that. Her motives are unknown.
Monstrous. What does that mean, after all? Evening slinks up as the sun falls low, and in her footsteps the darkness of night follow- the claws of all the creeping things that dwell in the shadows clicking upon the ground, awakened to the night that she brings with her steps.

The library is open to the monstrous.

Evening casts long shadows as she enters, her presence signaling a number of the students to glance up from their books, their scrolls; signaling them to leave the room, return to the dorms for the night. Wait for her to leave. Others barely notice her, and continue as though nothing had changed- as though the air hadn't become a degree cooler, as though the candles hadn't become a shade too warm compared to the light that no more shone from the open door and the windows.

She prowled, for a time, among them. White eyes that peered out of the shadowy corners of the library, an ever-present sense of dread that really, was no different from the natural state of things there.

In the depths of the clan, a prowling warden, that seemed out of place for something that ought to be as simple as a school- but when they saw one another, the Gaoler seemed to fill with something harsh, cold, sharp- and commanded, by magic or by force of will, that Evening leave.
So again, she was off.
The clan she visited next was no stranger to monstrous things. Once they had lived in the scarred wasteland. Where the most vilest of things flourish, then they had moved to help guard the fortress of end where the most horrendous nightmare lay locked away. They seemed unfazed and unbothered by her presence. No matter where she lurked they just accepted it as normal, Since they were anything but themselves. After staying for some time she decided it was time to be on her way again, slipping away as quietly as she had come in.
Evening slipped into the woods, as silent as the mist that surrounded her. The woods were strange, but she was strange herself. She walked until she came across a small village. Emerging from the woods, she stalked the outskirts of the town, sizing it up and observing the inhabitants. It took some time, but one dragon managed to spot her. Raising the alarm, he grabbed a spear and drove her back, hissing all the while. Evening had encountered dragons like this before, and simply turned and walked away. She would not be welcomed here. The woods welcomed her once more, and her path was remarkably clear.

The path she had walked led her to a cave. It smelled of darkness and death. Evening pushed her way through the brambles surrounding it and entered. Carcasses lined the floor, and diseased puddles festered, filled with bacteria and viruses that she was sure would kill a dragon in no time. Sickness was irrelevant to her, so she splashed through. A purple Tundra was curled in the corner, his eyes flashing in the darkness. A fellow monster like her. They lived a while together, working in unison and never speaking a word. Evening slipped away a year later, back into the mist.
Evening slipped into Clan Ares not long after she had left her temporary home with the Tundra. She lived with them for quite some time before slipping back out into the world when news of her arrival started to circulate around the clan.
As Evening ventured into a garden clearing filled with dragons of every shape, size, and color, she found it strange. None of them reacted badly towards her. None of them reacted to her with horror or fear.

None of them saw her as a monster.

She thought she would like it here, a place where she was accepted, but instead she just felt invisible and frightened. She had become so accustomed to being treated as a monster, that when she was seen as just a regular dragon, it felt strange. She didn't like it. She didn't know why, but she just didn't.

She left almost as soon as she arrived.

Evening had finally arrived at another clan. This was a water clan, and it had a lot of dragons. As she arrived she was circled and poked by loud curious hatchlings. Unfortunately for Evening she had came to this clan when there was a large hatchling boom so there was even more she didn't want to deal with. She made her escape in the darkness of the night.
