Glass Knife

Wandering Priestess of Doomsday

The watchers worship the Arcanist and the Shadowbinder, but all of the gods have their loyalty and admiration. They believe that when the Arcanist had accidentally brought back the Shade, it was an intentional act. It was to bring on the end of the world, Doomsday, per se, and to wipe the unworthy ones from the world. Any exalted only become fuel to the hunger of the Shade, and they believe any member of the cult can earn their way to live to the end of the world. If they are proven worthy, the Priestess, Meilyr, will grant them survival, "blessing" them with a disability that she says to allow them to be detached from the mortal world, therefore survive. She claims her own disability is having her incredible, godly power bound and hidden away from her, and that it will release when doomsday begins to protect her followers, as will the followers' own supposed powers as well. The cult claims to be about knowledge, protection, and worship. However, it really just sprouted from Meilyr's own sick desire to be loved unconditionally and to be powerful and to control others for herself. Though, as a sick safety measure, she hinders her followers' ability to fight back (taking away an important body part) as a supposed initiation ceremony and to show their devotion to her.
