★★★ QUICK LOOKHealer/Guide of the Lost Thanatos is a plague mage, first and foremost. He certainly serves as the clan's healer due to his healing spells, but being bound to Plague makes that a rather unique experience that most other dragons would not necessarily appreciate. Part of his job is to make the call on whether dragons can indeed be saved or not, something that he's uniquely tuned to due to his ties to the lost. One would expect such a vocation to be rather grim, but Thanatos always seems in a pleasant mood, eager to share a cup of tea and advice to younger dragons, even if he'll be teasing them the whole while. Thanatos' method of casting is also somewhat unique, as while other dragons might gesture or recite incantations, Thanatos channels his magic through dance. |
★★★ PERSONALITY The reputation surrounding Thanatos' vocation of a healer in a Plague clan on top of being tied to the dead would easily lead one to the assumption that such a dragon would be a glum, grim sort that spends most of their spare time brooding. One would also quickly, upon meeting Thanatos himself, be proven quite wrong. Thanatos certainly has strong views on death and isn't exactly friendly to the idea of rebirth, but nonetheless he is usually an enthusiastic and friendly sort. Perhaps it's partly due to him being a father, but Thanatos also has a mischievous attitude towards dragons younger than him. This is always rather harmless, however, and he'll always be offering actual advice when he views they need it, even while thoroughly embarrassing them. The best way, by far, to start up a conversation with Thanatos is to offer him a cup of tea, as he views himself a connoisseur. |
★★★ HISTORY Most of the clan's not quite sure on where Thanatos exactly came from, he walked out of the wasteland itself one day, simply deciding that this was where he resided now. Only a few dragons have learned more of his story. The clan, though hesitant and wary, slowly grew to accept the eccentric Skydancer in their ranks after numerous friendly interactions and his attempt to make "Leechroot Tea". Thanatos has always been followed and encircled by ghostly blue flames and, when asked about them, has explained with a smile that they are "Formerly lost, now found and being guided." He's neglected to elaborate on this, but it should be noted that sometimes when a dragon cannot be saved and Thanatos asks to be left alone with the unfortunate dragon, the number of flames seems to grow. He has grown to be a trusted and powerful member of the clan, starting his own family and being a source of important input on clan matters. Recently, the clan agreed to send him out to answer a call for help at Greenstone to sow better relationships with other clans, this lead to a journey that spanned the whole of Sornieth and beyond; bringing with it new friends who he'd easily call an extended family and another love in the form of the Dancer, Lopeholt. |
