At a young age, Gaelyx and his sister Manaessa lived in a Clan in the Ashfall Waste. They lived a nice, peaceful life. That is, until their father Aemar had to leave one day. He was going to study life in the other regions, and his first stop was the Sunbeam Ruins. The two siblings and their mother bid him a tearful farewell after promising to come visit him often. Their mother, Saenelys, tried her best to make sure that both of them were happy and careless, and they all stayed true to their word about visits. The three of them would go see Aemar in his Clan every month. Life was beginning to go back to normal.

But on their fourth visit and fourth month away from him, everything shattered. The three of them journeyed to where his lair was, but what met their eyes was devastating. A huge ocean lay out in front of them, where it used to be. They could see the rubble beneath the waves. No dragon was in sight. Frantic and worried, they searched for any signs of Aemar, and eventually came across a nearby Clan who knew what had happened.

The dragon was reluctant to tell them. "It was horrible. Last week, a huge tsunami-wave swept up from the shore. Dens were flooded and whole lairs were underwater. The Clan your father was in was most affected. Nothing survived....no one survived." Heartbroken and hopeless, they returned to the drowned lair to grieve. Saenelys decided to return to the Ashfall Waste, but Gaelyx and Manaessa had a different idea. Maybe, if they embraced the water, if they learned to live in it, they would eventually find their father again. Maybe, hope wasn't all lost. 		firev4.png
