LAVENA
Celtic: 'Joy'

Baked and brought to life in the Bewitched Bakery, Lavena has never had a normal life. Not created from flesh and bone, but made with flour and milk, this Pearlcatcher doesn't have any parents - just a creator. After a little accident involving a Gate which allowed souls to return to Sornieth, some of these souls were reincarnated in the pastries of the bakery. They have no memory of their previous life - at least, most of the returned souls haven't. They now seek to live a normal life like any other dragon.

Born a natural leader, this dragon prefers positions of power and control. Their charismatic ways help them get others behind their own ideas, which in turn, helps them achieve their goals sooner. No task is too difficult, and they can achieve virtually anything they set their mind to. They have no trouble speaking their mind, no matter how harsh it might be, and this can often cause them to be seen as heartless or ignorant - which, sometimes, they are. No matter their insensitivity at times, they still enjoy the company of others and prefer to surround themselves with dragons that match their level of intelligence.

Blueberry Muffins

1. Preheat oven to 190°C. You may want to lightly grease your muffin tin so that the crown of the muffin doesn't stick to the pan. Place eight muffin liners in the pan.
2. Combine the sugar, egg, oil, milk, and vanilla in a bowl and stir until well combined.
3.Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. I stir the baking powder and salt into the flour right on top of the wet ingredients so I don't have to get out another bowl. Once the baking powder and salt are pretty well distributed in the flour, stir them into the wet ingredients until combined. Don't overmix. Just stir until it's no longer lumpy.
4. Spread the maple custard in the walnut tart shell.
Warm the apple slices in the microwave until pliable.
Roll a slice of apple into a tight spiral and stand it up vertically in the custard. Continue to arrange apple slices in a concentric pattern, around the first one, building a rose pattern.
5. Stir in the sour cream just until well distributed. Fold in the blueberries (I left about half for the top so some would be visible on the crown of the muffin).
6. Evenly distribute the batter in the muffin tin. If you are making 8 high crowned muffins, you will be filling them all the way to the top. If you want to make shorter muffins you could probably fill 12. If you saved some berries for the top, sprinkle them on and press them in lightly. Sprinkle the tops with the 1 tablespoon of sugar if you want.
7. Bake muffins for about 25 minutes. If you're using frozen berries it will take about 5 minutes longer. Also depending on how many muffins you decided to make, it will also take a shorter time. Just make sure you get them out as soon as a toothpick comes out clean.
