Another of the Raquinta songs sings of a spirit of light and dark, of sun and moon, day and night, balance and tempo.
Shemsiin.
They are the one who heralds the dawn and steps in time with the sun. They are the one that dances with the stars at night, who guides the moon in her gentle song. They are the one that looks over every life, bringing balance between the masculine and feminine.
Every few years, a new priest of Shemsiin is chosen, a dancer of utmost skill, elegance, and grace. This dancer sheds their past life and becomes the spirit's avatar, being blessed by the magic of balance, and serving as Shemsiin's hands in the mortal realm.
Their life is never lonely, filled with joy and song. A burden lies on their shoulders, to keep balance and lead the Raquinta in the proper tempo, the correct song. They are revered by young and old alike, spoken of with reverence.
And every few years, the priest of Shemsiin chooses another to teach. Another to receive the white wings of the spirit of song and balance, moon and sun, dark and light. Another song for the Raquinta to sing of.
