Ceto

A predator of the midnight skies,
Striking in the darkness of the night,
No prey escapes her sight,
Captivated by her night sky wings,
They fall into eternal slumber with the memory of a starry sky.

Her songs are music to the ears of sailors,
Luring their ships onto sharp reefs for herself and kin alike,
The sea may not be her home,
But who's to resist a jolly old sailor bold.

Betraying her own kind by keeping her love alive,
She escaped into the midnight skies,
Her lover right by her side,
Their hearts yearning for a place of old.

The tale lives to this day,
Men speaking of it on their voyages across the sea,
Lovers who have never been seen again,
But both found a place to peacefully live,
Safe from any harm the world may bring.


Under the guidance of the North Star,
May all sailors find their ways back home,
Where their hearts reside.
