Excessive, pretentious, scatterbrained

Nomura is famous for his costume design, as he loves creating sensational outfits for plays. His costumes emphasize looks over function, making them wildly impractical even for trained actors to wear during their performances. The most infamous creation was a skirt made entirely made of belts. (How did the actress cope? She moved as little as possible.)

While his fashion is over the top, his writing is even more extreme. Over time, he grew in prominence and began directing, and the same audience that loves his fashion tends to adore his productions too. Nomura has no focus when he's writing, throwing in plot threads, plot twists, and characters at random. The storylines are bloated, inscrutable messes, but at least they're fascinating to watch.
