Gaius

Also known as "The Recruit," Gaius helps oversee the protection of his clan's lair. He had an estranged relationship with his father, preferring his mother's sensibilities and courage that led to his current career over the womanizing and irresponsibility his dad was expelled for. Light on his feet and quick to move, Gaius favors mobility over protection, as seen by his choice to wear light vests rather than bulky armor. Though this has made him receive more than his fair share of scars, he knows his battle role is to serve as an advanced scout and distract any enemies while the real fighters available show up and engage in battle.
Though it's a thankless job, he knows someone needs to do it and takes pride in his skills, befriending a Lightning Sprite early in his clan's history that helps maintain his steampunk gear, which eventually grew into mutual respect and friendship.

Hearing tales from passerby, adoptions, he dreams of one day finding a dragon to replace him so that he may scout out the world beyond.
