Biography
a specific emotion. a therapist guardian’s charge may be peace of mind or happiness, an entertainer’s may be amusement, a killer’s may be fear. the best ones are incredibly specific emotions, like vemödalen (the frustration of photographing something amazing when thousands of identical photos already exist) or gnossienne (a moment of awareness that someone you’ve known for years still has a private and mysterious inner life)- something near-microscopic, like a speck of dust. possibly kept in an airtight jar and watched carefully
a pearl which they are constantly trying to steal from the pearlcatcher it belongs to- a game, especially a really obscure game they played as a child that nobody else knows about, which they can’t even remember the name of
- every single [noun]. every single rock, every single rat. every single anklet. you are not allowed to touch them
- a body part. not the bogsneak, but the bogsneak’s left hind leg
- combine the last two. every single left hind leg. snakes frustrate them greatly
- something that doesn’t exist yet. maybe it’s an unborn dragon who they spend their life searching for, maybe it’s the concept of elevators. particularly good for lightning dragons & others who may try to invent it themselves
- cool rock
- an action. flying, eating, or maybe just whistling very loudly. always trying to get you to whistle with them
a stuffed animal. it’s just cute, especially with permababs. bonus points to an old ratty stuffed animal- a nocturne, who in turn believes that the guardian is its charge. if this delights or frustrates the guardian is up to you
related to “every single—“, everything that [blanks]. everything that glows, weird fish, other dragons, fireflies, etc. everything that hops, frogs, bunnies, this one leaf they saw once,- an event, replicable or unique
- a song. maybe something famous, maybe a tune they made up themself. either way they won’t stop humming it
- a specific, short-lived thing. a fruit fly who they mourn constantly, whose grave they protect fiercely
imaginary friend. or possibly ghost.- a deity they weren’t born under, especially if the guardian is a primal
themself- combine that and “a body part”. their own beard/claws/horns/eyes
- another living thing that doesn’t like them, be it another dragon or a really angry dog
you. the only dragon in your lair who sees past the fourth wall- another clan. they’re not gonna join it, either because they like the one they’re in or they’re simply not welcome, but they’ll protect it from afar
- a historical figure. a late clan founder, adventurer, inventor, or maybe someone less virtuous, like an infamous murderer
- someone fictional. a hero from an old story, one they tell constantly
- a language. possibly coatls’, who they try desperately to imitate or the code used by the beastclans
