■ He seems an untrustworthy and shady figure, but though he is somewhat shady he is very loyal to his clanmates and friends. Distrusted by most of the clan, though everyone is grateful he's on their side.

■ If you get on his wrong side you better check every meal you eat and every single thing you touch

■ You really can't poison him. He knows and recognizes most known poisons, and he has an impressive collection of cures. If a dragon from the clan shows signs of poisoning Dutch knows what type of poison it is and which cure to use.

■ A huge scar across his back limits his physical abilities. He has a bit of a limp.

Growing up in a small clan in the harsh world of the crowded lesser lairs of the Driftwood Drag, he struggled to survive. Getting enough to eat every day was a challenge for him and his clanmates. As soon as he was old enough he tried to help gathering food and protecting the clan, but during an attack from a neighbouring clan he got badly injured. He couldn't make himself useful in his birthclan, he would only cost them their food. He decided to leave.

His barely healed injury made it difficult for him to make ends meet on the road. He did all kinds of small jobs, traveled along with bands of travelers, and sometimes stayed the night in a welcoming clan. He couldn't stop feeling he was a nuissance to them all and so he left everyone behind after a while.
One day, while traveling alone, Dutch was attacked by a gang of outcasts. Before he knew what happened he was ambushed, and the dragons were slashing at him with their weapons.
After the attack he never felt safe out on the road again. He decided it was time for him to settle down in a clan.
