Biography
Bred by Tammabanana! <3
Celestial was born during one of her fae father's expeditions to seek the whereabouts of his absent Tidelord. Puck, turning his magic to scry water and sky, found signs indicating that he ought fly south, to the icefields. There he found not the Tidelord, but Pixie, an ice-born Tundra whose coat matched his own. Inspired by this coincidence, Puck scryed the star pattern of Pixie's own coat, and concluded that the Tidelord's whereabouts would surely be more easily sought by their children than by he, himself. It was probably for the best that Pixie didn't really catch the full gist of Puck's rapid-fire, wholly unromantic mating proposal, but he smelled like unwavering loyalty, grand adventure, and quite a bit like her favorite salt marsh reeds, and that was a pretty good combination, so she accepted.
They laid their first nest in Pixie's birthlair. Immediately upon Celestial's hatching, Puck closely examined her coat's pattern, and declared that her stars indicated that they must carry her this way, this way. Pixie obligingly lifted the little one upon her back and followed, all the way back to the Sea of a Thousand Currents and Fishspine Scolia. This, Puck insisted, was where Celestial must begin her journey; the stars foretold! Pixie had already forgotten what Puck was going on about, but the place smelled homey and the clan friendly, so she obligingly agreed, and then followed Puck off to wherever his next scrying led him.
Celestial understood quite a bit more of what Puck had been going on about: an absent Tidelord, the signs in the moonlight on water, the movement of the stars above, the changes in her own coat's stars as she grew, the ambient scent of the world on their long journey that correlated with the magical flows Puck tapped as he kept up a running chatter about what his scrying told him today. Though she forgets much of the detailed mechanics behind what she learns to sense and scry, she has acquired a strong instinct for detecting and recognizing the signs: this smells like Tidelord; that does not; and one must, above all, find the Tidelord.
