Biography
Lucretia Mother in mourning
When Lucretia hatched from her egg, all she found around her was a scorched wasteland. She had been abandoned and left to die. Against all the odds, she managed to survive her first vulnerable hours in the new world. Before too long, she had reached her limits and collapsed. Weeks later, she awoke to the sound of other dragons. Apparently she would've died had the clan not decided they were going to relocate. They found her on their journey and didn't think twice about taking her in.
Soon, she was strong enough to fend for herself. She wasn't left without permanent damage though. Due to her not being incubated correctly and being dehydrated in the hottest region, Lucretia couldn't speak. The healer in her first clan told her that the incubation would've effected her ability to speak, but the searing heat had scorched her vocal chords, rendering them completely useless.
She wasn't all that upset. She was still just a hatchling and didn't miss something she hadn't learned to do. As she grew up, her disability did hinder her. When there were discussions and everyone was encouraged to voice their opinion, she was unable to. It was months before she found a way to communicate, of which she discovered on her journey to a new home.
The Pearlcatcher met many dragons on her travels, but only a few could she recall vividly. A Fae fluttered by her as Lurectia came into the Shifting Expanse. The small dragon welcomed her to his home region. When she didn't reply, he landed in front of her. Had she not been paying attention, the poor Fae would've been crushed. He started making gestures with his hands, which to her looked funny. The Fae was bewildered when she didn't recognise what he was doing. That was the start of a dear friendship and the beginning of a new life with more freedom. It took Lucretia a few weeks to grasp the basics, but she was finally able to communicate with other dragons.
There were few which knew sign language, so the Fae stuck by her side and translated to others what she was saying. Unfortunately, a tragic accident befell her companion and once again she found it difficult to communicate effectively. Distraught at the loss of her closest and longest friend, Lucretia set out to find a new clan and start fresh.
Her final destination was the Tangled Wood, specifically the Crepuscular clan.
Once she settled down in her new clan, she began to miss her family who had gone their separate ways to new homes. She tried to track them down and almost succeeded in being reunited, but she was too late and her child had once again moved to a new home.
Loquela, who had become her interpretor for the rest of the clan tried to fill that space in her heart. It worked for a while, her colours weren't completely correct and nor was her element, but it was close and it sufficed. Until it didn't. Loquela eventually left the clan, seeing Lucretia fall deeper into mourning the more she looked at her was too much to bear.
Once again Lucretia felt alone. Then Aurelie turned up. She enlisted the help of Svarkova to help transform her colours into that which was closer to Lucretia's. After many painstaking attempts, they still hadn't managed to get it right.
Lucretia has resigned to the fact she will never see her family again, but a small part of her holds out hope.
