nalani is a spirit who was trapped inside a magical artefact until he was freed by the clan. he is indebted to them, so he refuses to leave, but he doesn't interfere in clan business unless he thinks it will be funny. he is quite protective of the clan though, as he's been trapped so long he's not sure how to survive in the real world alone anymore.
