Biography

VioletMoon
Clouds drifted gently along as they were pulled into the eastern horizon, riding the jetstream along with them was a quartet of dragons. Their wings beating the air in a quiet tandem, noone saying a word as they pressed on the day soon turning to late noon. As the air grew lighter with elevation, a pounding headache filled Violet's head, her wings beating the air hard as the company pushed on their wingspans larger in size easily pumping against the currents. She struggled to match their pace, soon growing tired her fae wings folded into her sides. She dove a piercing whistle ringing in her ears as the ground neared, Violet banked as the breeze caught her wings the undercurrents allowing her to glide with ease over the moors and treeline. The shadows of Ravencourt, Twilight and Princess Nimbus passing caught her eye, she watched as Twilight signaled towards a secluded gully, mountainous cliffs surrounding either side a river yawning wide over the grassland below. They circled twice before landing, eyeing the crags and caves A herd of centuars rode past, a blur of browns and grays. Violet landed with a huff her lungs screaming for air. They had journeyed on flight riding the eastern skies for four days now, stopping only to hunt along the paved paths and forests. The shadelands they were nearing,as the vegetation grew denser and the landscape closed in on itself as if it were the walls of a dark prison. Violetmoon watched as Twilight and Nimbus walked along the Cliffside digging in the crags for small critters, a chill went down her spine as a tumble of rocks was sent flying over the princess's head, looking unalarmed as she maneuvered carefully over the rocks. Ravencourt placed his wing over Violet, the wind no longer chilling her to the bone, she had scarcely realized the shaking. She looked up to see him giving her a warm smile, she relaxed breathing slowly.
"The Princess is fine, don't you worry my Lady she is strong like her mother. Nimbus will overcome any obstacle with ease." Raven said in a soft voice catching her eye to the scene above. She nodded shifting her gaze to meet his, he always had a radiating calm in his pressence, an ease of words and a forward mind. Violet studied him for a moment longer grateful for the company, "Raven why did the Queen send us all to visit the nightshade what exactly does she hope we find there?" She asked now Sceptical . But before she could get an answer, Nimbus and Twilight landed dropping a small pile of dust slither and mice at their feet. Twilight started roasting the meat handing the charred pieces to each dragon in turn. As they are in silence, Violet still couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this trip than DreamCatcher had let on. "Twilight, what do you think, the Queen send us on a suicide mission?" Ravencourt joked. His voice soothing her nerves. Twilight looked up startled, "The Queen oh, yeah her she is...something else...I guess.I don't know, I was trained to follow every and all orders without questions or doubts and I have so far and look at where it's gotten me....I question even myself now, I don't remember what it's like to think for myself anymore, I listened to every call and order of Okami, I would have followed him to the bottom of the sea of a thousand currents if he only asked....I don't remember what it means to be Twilight anymore...Everything is all so grey and meaningless with out him..."
Twilight looked off staring off into the distance everyone silent, "Okami? Is that the he you meant Twilight? The he who gave your world color and direction." Raven asked in a low voice barely Audible above the wind. She nodded stunned, "our son was perfect he was a reminder...." Twilight started but soon cut off by a cold voice in the corner, ringing clear it spoke, " You mean a reminder of the adultery and hurt our Queen was left to heal by herself for seasons while you enjoyed your time playing his maiden of war...Whispering in his ear turning my father into a cold hearted killer!...I am glad your mistake didn't live if it had, it would have been the end of us!!Do you understand that So called Defender of the realm... The monster you two brought to life led my father to try and murder my MOTHER our QUEEN, because he thought he was protecting you, because you act had him believing YOU were the one the gods saw him with, YOU had him wrapped around your talons, YOU MADE him the traitor he is today and because of you I will never know truly who my FATHER is! He is crazed for YOU, who does he call for in the halls, who does he pray for in the Shrines, Who does he try to send scrolls to!!! You! You are lucky Our Queen is merciful and understanding after your treachery taking the father away from her kids, breaking thousands of years of tradition! I do hope you never remember what it meant to be Twilight, because she used to mean something to my family, I used to look up to her,but she is no one to me or my family not anymore. I hope you find it in yourself to become a better dragon. I miss my mentor really I do. You were like an Aunt to me.... " Nimbus slumped to the grass, her sides heaving. She eyed each dragon, taking them all in, their maws open and heads shaking in awe. Yes she had really done it finally Violetmoon gasped how much hate and suffering had this little girl held in for so long she thought. Twilight wiped a tear. Nodding her head in agreement.Ravencourt stood up shaking himself. "Nim..." He started never to finish. She glared at him. "Don't even start preaching your clever riddles at me, been there done that! I am the Queens daughter and I will not be ruined and known as the murders daughter because of that MONSTER! Do you even know what that feels like! The shame and the horror, I have to stay locked away because it's not safe for me to even wander the halls of my own home anymore, without being attacked by mobs accusing me of conspiring with the enemy! His favorite daughter the QUEEN KILLER!" Nimbus barked her voice hoarse but clear. Ravencourt shrunk back curling himself close to Twilight the outcasts huddled close to the fire. Nimbus is her desolate corner lashing her tail. Violetmoon knew she was next on the princesses warpath. She thought for a moment studying her, Nimbus glared waiting for her response . Violetmoon cleared her throat "They say Princess you find your answers in the un likeliest of places, perhaps your mother sent us all out here for a reason to find it in each other..." She spoke calming Nimbus seeing a visible difference. Nimbus rolled her eyes "The faster we finish this he'll of a trip the faster we go back to living our lives as a lie, it's better that way sometimes the truth can set you free...And sometimes the lies become my new truth..."

As night dragged on and the dawn sky washed over the land, Violetmoon watched as the old world rabbits raced on the moors as falcon soared chasing mice into their dens. And as a lost princess bounded into the sky for flight her wings catching a gale nearly slamming her into the cliffs, she pushed hard until she leveled herself again hovering over their heads. Violetmoon sat up slowly moving her arms to get Nimbus's attention, she saw and landed softly beside the Fae. "You sure you want to do this?" She nodded " Be safe keep to the undercurrents stay downwind always, and stay safe princess your mother would have a heart attack if she ever lost another daughter. But you already knew that. Just find a way to meet us there whatever else you do in that time from now to then we will never know, leave now knowing that you have one chance at freedom don't waste it". With a long hug Nimbus rose and circled once before soaring east to tomorrow. Violetmoon watched as she went, that girl she knew, was made to soar above us all. What tomorrow would bring was uncertain but into the shadows they would all go, into the shadows to find what the light could not give...

Mist swirled around a dense cloud of vapor, the view of the shadelands distorted from view. Twilight and Ravencourt chatted lightly as they flew through the morning mist, Violetmoon surveying the land below the best she could to make out the figures below, hoping for any sign of the young princess. Violet let out a small plume, letting it burn the mist in her path. Violet stopped mid air something catching her eye, twinkling under a small rubble of rocks, she hovered over the outcrop. Landing lightly she carefully moved each stone until it was unmistakable; a one of a kind piece of Celestial jewelry, a lapis lazuli tail clasp. Violet gasped these were made only for the royal family, it was as clear as day. Nimbus had come through this way, was she hurt or lost or even scared. She did not know. Violet reached for her satchel, carefully placing the clasp inside. Violet readied her wings for flight, a heavy fog settled like a blanket over the Cliffside her heart racing, she realized she had lost Twilight and Ravencourt. She risked calling out their names twice, screaming as hard as her tiny lungs would allow her. Her calls echoing off the cliffs, giving her an eerie sense of abandonment. Violet sighed exasperated, of course she thought first we loose a giant guardian then the tiny Fae because that makes sense.Violet stayed there for another moment , took out her map only to have the gale and the spontaneous downpour soak it and carry it away into the tangled wood. Violet set out shivering and flapping fiercely, as she neared the cover of the trees squinting against the rain; she stopped suddenly the world slowing what was that she thought... From a small cave came the illuminated glow of a light egg, pulsing with life and she swore it was calling to her. But before she cou?d follow it, a sudden gale ripped past Violet sending her flying headfirst into a dark mire wood, with that she laid unconscious and deathly still as a large branch broke off and landed on her chest knocking the wind out of her...The world dulling to her quiet gasping breathe, the glowing illusion fading away into the darkness of the tangled wood.

As the days marched on waking in out of consciousness, Violet slowly grew her strength back. Nursed for by a blurred image of a dragon melding shadow, then the light illuminated her vision again this light egg calling her to her feet as she stumbled forward. Crashing through the undergrowth to find it, looking it for hours at a time only for it to lead her into the darkest of the tangled wood. Creatures and curiosities of all kind lurking and melding with the shadows. Illusions and phantoms creating dancing lights and sounds and smells dulling her senses. Her mind fuzzy and unaware of the terrifying world around her or her clawmates still missing. Unaware of the number of days and nights she trudged on alone, mad to follow the source of the ever glowing egg, where it would take her she didn't know. Instincts driving her forward, scarcely realizing her hunger and thirst, she stopped swaying to the ground. Her last reserves burned and her body screaming for nutrients. Violet collapsed into a hoard of ferns. Chewing and grabbing for the nearest sustenance. Her stomach not so shallow anymore she rose fell, rose again and collapsed with a huff. Tracing the leafy bandages wrapped around her side. Violet realized with a lingering hope that if perhaps she lied her long enough her miracle healer would rescue from this horror show. It was soon nightfall and Violet knew all too well the creatures and mystics of the night. The thought chilled her to the bone, she knew she needed to press on and get out of the open but before she couldn't lift her hollow bon body off the ground. A lite rain began th drizzle the soft mosses and fungi around her. She closed her eyes exposed, lonely and fearful. A single tear fell lighting a glowing mushroom. She sobbed quietly, who could a place so beautiful and wonderful be so cruel and unforgiving she thought.

The darkness of the night soon stilled of its pandemonium as a cascade of stars swept the night sky and only the sound of snarling dreadkins were heard resounding in the night. As all hope seemed lost and as the creatures of the shadows neared ever closer, Violet's heart raced willing her sore body to rise and run for her life. But her strength was replaced by raw fear. It happened all so fast a flash of fangs, an exchange of grunts and growls, a flash of sparks. But what froze in her mind most of all was the image of the light rosy orb light radiating off her defender's attack that made a chill run along her spine. How similar it was to her own and her children's orbs. Few she knew possessing this rare ability, an ability known only to Fae. As the night trudged on and dazzling lights shone from glowing shrooms, Violet could scarcely recall what had happened or where she was.The only recollection of her traumatic experience was the relief and awe she felt when from a masked illusion coming to life. After her defender disappeared shortly after the frightful fight, again the light egg came to her. Pulsing and radiating warmth and life, reminding her fiercely of the egg she had lost moons ago. With one cold touch her talon against the glossy surface, it hatched and with an intense glow came a welcoming talon extended out to reach hers. Hers shaky at first grasped the strangers, weary and grateful. Her mind no longer crazed to find any sign of civilization, it had found her.

Violetmoon shivered a wind picking up in the forest, it took everything she had not to sway as the rickety wagon traveled over gravel and ferns. Violet looked around studying every land mark and possible escape routes. Her eyes fell on the masked driver pulling the wagon along swiftly again she called out to him, still no reply. She slumped down aggravated. It had been hours since she had awaken to find herself on this he'll ride, she debated over and over trying to decide if she should risk venturing out to her freedom only to be taken again. Then she resolved to the fact that her wings were badly injured and she would not survive the night out there alone. Violet decided she would wait out the coming storm and when they reached their destination she would demand to see the Queen. Violet looked around for food her stomach growling, she shuffled through a burlap sack and at last she found a bounty of fresh fruits. Violet rejoiced, what else was in this wagon she started scratching at a giant mesh of canvas. Something was moving under it. Violet jumped back, met with a fiery glare as the driver whirled around. Violet gave him a weak smile and put her talons up mocking her feeble innocence. When he had started up again she slowly returned to untying the mesh, weary of the driver. As she undid a mess of rope, something underneath began to stir, she swore it was breathing. Curiosity burning a dangerous flame, she removed a large fishing net strip from the mesh, suddenly water came sputtering out towards her like a fountain. Violet jumped back with horror, as she watched Ravencourt materialize from the pile. Coughing and wheezing for air, water drizzling from his cheek. Violet jumped onto his neck hugging him, relieved to see a familiar face. Raven held her up inspecting her in the light, she grinned as she removed a piece of kelp from his horn. Raven released her onto a tarp, they couldn't believe their luck. Violet settled close to him as they shared their strange adventures, their low moments and their high. Violet recoiled as she relived her agony in the tangled wood, as Raven shared his dreadful tale of a luring Lightweaver illusion who led him astray into coves and horrifying boneyards until he ended up washed up on a shore alone and shivering, sadly no one had seen or heard from Twilight or the Princess. Violet watched as the driver took a sudden turn into a clearing, they both tensed. Over a hill lay a single towering arch, disturbing faces were etched into its sides, it was almost beautiful in the pale light, Violet remarked. "Oh great what is this another trick another folly illusion, I have had enough to last a lifetime!" Ravencourt barked angrily. The driver stopped suddenly , he walked around to the door without a word, he undid the latch and went off silently into the wood. Raven and Violet exchanged glances confused.

The voices grew louder as they neared the ominous arch of voices. Their footfalls ringing clear all around.Violetmoon climbed up Raven's back up now to his neck, she flared her wings looking regal. He voices came to a sudden hush, the clearing held an ominous pressence. "Who goes there?" Rang the voices all one in unison, it's source unknown. Violet and Raven rattled their wings shook to the core. Violet shushed Raven before he could answer, giving him a warning glance. "Oh great mystic ones, we are Ravencourt and Violetmoon of the clan Celestial from the Light Realm. We come here in peace, we were expected weeks ago for an important audience with your Queen." Violet called calmly. " Oh great this one again...- Alright you may pass one at a time! Please keep yours wings and tails inside the Arch at all times before crossing into the Nightshade camp, and please don't stare or wander off! " The voices called indignantly. Violet was the first to crossover her wings tucked in and hear raised proud, she watched as the well concealed camp appeared before her eyes a towering monument touching the sky grabbed her attention. All she could think was how deadly it looked, the Black Claw she remembered the Queen telling them where the Queen of the Nightshades made her keep. Violet looked around in awe a well concealed clan it was, all around dragons melded with the shadows one second here, the next there. For an instant she thought she saw the cart driver but she must have been mistaken, then she remembered not to stare. How rude of her she thought, she just couldn't keep her eyes off the camp, how many dragons made their home here she thought amazed at least a hundred or more! Violet smelled burnt flesh before she heard the loud Zap behind her. Violet whirled around as she watched just in time to see Ravencourt thrown headfirst into a hoard of glowing shrooms, the bio luminescence dripping off his wings and face. Violet rolled her eyes as he wiped his eyes and groomed his tail, his face screwed up in outrage. "Ravencourt you heard them no wandering off, what the hell are you doing over there?! Now is not the time to go take a bath in mushrooms, and don't you dare tell me something stupid like it's good for the scales! " Violet barked iritated. "But-..." he called in distress. " Now Raven, the Queen is waiting! "She called. "Both of them", she mumbled to herself. Raven started forward his head raised in disgust, but as he neared the Arch he cowered as he swore to himself the voices were mocking him. As the shadow of the Arch towered over him a spontaneous spark of electricity shot just clear of his tail, he ran after Violet with a cry. "Raven what are we going to do with you, you idiot?! I am surprised you have lived this long!" Violet said in a teasing tone wiping glowing goo off his shoulder. They looked from each other to the meadow before them. Their gaze followed the meadow to the other side, where a claw of Obsidian towered through the fog, Meldingshadow keep. Violetmoon looked back at Ravencourt to see her own fear reflected in his eyes.
“This is more terrifying than I remember it” Ravencourt whispered. Violetmoon looked at the flat rocks that surrounded the meadow waiting to see the elusive Queen of the Nightshades. But there was no one, nothing alive was in valley and the only movement was the rippling of the grass. Then see saw it. The irregular pattern in which the grass moved, like there where dragons running through it, but without the dragons. All the ripples where running towards a gaping hole at the bottom of Meldingshadow keep. Reluctantly Violetmoon and Ravencourt followed.Violet worried for Nimbus and Twilight as the huge wooden doors swung open. No one in sight as they walked tentatively forward, light from the already dark outside sparsely lit up the even darker inside, only giving enough light to see three feet of the glittering black floor in front of them. Raven shuttered his body close to hers his breathe on her neck, "Will you give me some space!" She shouted. They both recoiled as it ricocheted off the walls. It was silent, too silent. Violet drew herself up
