Biography

Laid back and as introverted as can be, Brock doesn't partake in frivolous pastimes or talk much with his clanmates. He's more stoic than anything else, and he generally can be found listening to the sounds of nature when he's not resting with his wife.

Brock laid on the ground, keeping his eyes cast downward on their fireplace, watching the flames with tired eyes.

Silvershadows laid down beside him. Curling her tail around her body and covering that with her wings, she looked up at the guardian. “What is it?” She asked, cocking her head to stare at her husband.

“I believe I’ve finalized my candidate for a replacement to fight in the coli,” Brock responded.

Silvershadows smiled a little. She knew Brock wasn’t happy. She knew he was tired. And most importantly, she knew he cared more than anything about the legacy he left behind. With all of their children gone or exalted, she knew he felt stronger than ever about this. “Who have you selected?” She asked.

"Foresight," Brock said decisively, causing Silvershadows to smile. She could still remember her husband, just getting ready for his first batch of eggs, doing his best to juggle her own fluctuating mood and the two young guardians he had rescued, taking them under his wing for as long as possible before handing them off to Wildflower. She could also remember his sadness when Volta had retired to the hibernal den. Ah, how times change, she thought with a smile.

"She'll make a lovely choice. Have you approached her yet?" Silvershadows asked.

"No, not yet, but with the way Castiel's choice responded, I doubt she'll turn the offer down," Brock said.

"Angie's a good girl, and it's been her life's dream to work in the coli though," Silvershadows advised.

"True, true..." Brock sighed. "I'll ask her soon enough, but for now... sleep."

Brock approached the younger dragon, keeping his gaze planted on the ground. He cleared his throat softly, causing the sea-green guardian to look up.

"Good morning, Brock," Foresight said cheerfully, "What brings you to this side of the camp?"

"I have a question," Brock gave her his best approximation of a calming smile.

"Well, hopefully, I can get you an answer." His fellow guardian smiled. "What's up?"

"I want you to take my place on the coli team." Brock said, quieter than before. "So that I can hibernate. Would you do that for me?"

Foresight's eyes widened. "I-uh, oh..." She stammered out, taking a small step back from the smaller guardian, as unintimidating as he was.

Brock's heart sank. "Think it through, please," he urged. "I wouldn't have asked if I didn't have the utmost faith in you." And with that sentiment, Brock turned around and headed in the direction of his home.

Foresight sat in front of Silvershadow's and Brock's hovel, heart beating furiously. Quickly, she knocked at the door, wincing at the loud noise. She had to wait only a moment more before the door opened, revealing Brock, looking a little confused and a little sleepy.

"I'll do it!" She blurted out before he even had a chance to open his mouth. Brock's face turned from confusion to understanding to relief.

"That's great!" He said, louder than expected. Quieting down a little bit, he smiled. "That's great," he repeated, nodding a little bit to himself. Then, he looked Foresight right in the eyes. "Thank you," he whispered. "I can sleep easy now."

Brock's Bamboo Phytocat sat in front of him, motionless. Brock sat in front of his Phytocat, also motionless. The temperamental animal moved to rub against his side once before walking off into the center square of the clan. Brock smiled. He would know where to go.
