Lilith began not first as a dragon, but as a malevolent force with great power churned by the Plaguebringer in the Wyrmwound some ages ago, perhaps a creature born out of the conflict between the Gladekeeper and Plaguebringer. It is said that she would devour the eggs of her enemy whole, and spread infertility throughout dragonkind except for those of the plague flight. She was a defiant creature, a changeling of both a dagger and fire, utter and pure chaos. The myth goes eventually a demigod ruling from the Arcanist’s lands drew her out and led her into a trap, trapping her being in a rune protected magical lockbox, hidden away in a vault deep within the Observatory, its location lost to all. Until… Teeth, the queen of the Order of the Plaguebringer, chanced upon sacred texts speaking of a changeling of immeasurable power created by the Plaguebringer, and banished from Sornieth, locked away in a magic lockbox. With the help and resources from her order, she sent her top infiltrator, Aeshma to the Starfall Isles to search for and recover the magical box. It took several grueling moons for the savvy nocturne to recover information that led to its location, but eventually she came to discover it lie within the Observatory. She also came to discover a supposed magical ring within the box that was said to control the being. Aeshma then used her outstanding mimicry abilities to find her way through the archaic mega-structure, and alas did she find the box. Once the nocturne found herself again in plague territory and within the secure Order walls, did she present the magic box to her waiting Queen. When Teeth opened the box, she found a ring with a dark red glowing crystal embedded and fitted it upon a talon. A shadow materialized, and took on the form of grotesque dark colored nocturne with glowing crimson colored eyes, fixing a glare upon Teeth. “I am your queen now. You will follow my orders from now on.” The changeling then uttered a cackle, “All who possess me will eventually descend into the Pit.” + Her name means "night monster". + Any female dragon she touches becomes infertile, and any egg she touches will never hatch or hatch with a plague-touched sickness. + Upon her release, Lilith assumed the form of a nocturne with glowing red eyes. + It is theorized that Khonsu is the demigod who trapped her. |
