The Lake Monster

TUkfRl6.png Qadira has been in Lake Arris for a long time, for as long as she can remember. She was tossed in well before the Clan moved into the area. She can't remember what, or who, cast her into the murky waters, but it's been her home ever sense. Honestly, she's unable to leave the water for more then a few hours at a time. There used to be more like her, those that were cast into the water. They were much older then she and they seemed intent on staying near the shiny object in a cave at the bottom of the lake. They promised she would one day find out why it was so important and why she was there, but that day never came. One by one all of the others disappeared until it was only her. Now she is very much alone and wanders the waters unsure of what to do, or even what she is.

The first time she saw another dragon was when Estellia dropped into her world. She wasn't sure what to do about her, though she knew deep down that she would not survive under the water. It was she that helped the wounded Spiral to the shores and it was she that tended to her until help arrived. Though Estellia was mostly unconscious through most of her tender mercies and when she wasn't she was hiding just out of sight. Though she never went far. She longed to follow after the Spiral and her rescuer but she was dragged back into the water, denied the ability to leave it.

There are more and more dragons and beasts visiting the lake now and though she doesn't show herself to them she does appreciate the company her oblivious guests provide. 		791.png

  • She was not a cub when she was thrown in Lake Arris. She was a young adult and she had had a life among the shadows.
  • She wasn't supposed to be the last to replace the elders, but for some reason she was. I'm assuming something happened to the creature that was making these murky water guardians.
  • The curse cast upon her caused her to not only be bound to the water of the lake, but caused her past to fade away. For all she knows she was born the day she was tossed in the water.
  • So long as the curse is in play she will age slower then a normal dragon. If it's ever removed she will begin to age normally from the point she's currently at.
  • Given the fact her memories are lost it's easy to think she might be a bit simple. That is far from the case. She was in the company of the elder guardians for a time before they began to fade and she was taught how to read and write. She often times gets into the library the elders left behind to read their histories and stories.
  • Before the elders could get to explain her purpose within the lake or what the 'thing' is they grew ill and vanished.
  • She does have a rapport with Estellia, who has come back to the lake often to try and remember anything she can about her past. Qadira always stays out of sight, but she feels a kinship with the broken Spiral.

It's dark within the murky depths; the deeper you go the harder the light struggles to reach you. There is a comfort there, deep in the shadows, just beyond the reach of the light. I feel this is the way it should be. It's the place I belong.
