As balanced and predictable as the ripples on the surface of a calm water, and the waves beating rytmichally on the shore.
He’d be painfully shy at times, seeming confused and lost in every social interaction.



The depths of the sea always frightned him. What spectales could possibly be hiding down there? For there couldn’t simply be nothing, could there? But what could possibly ever have lived there long enough to leave their traces? What could possibly be living down there now at this moment?
And so he was drawn to one of his one of his greatest fears by his curiosity.

As and adult he made up his mind to find out. Bit by bit. Deeper and deeper. Magic made it possible for him to stay under water for long durations at the time. But never long enough to reach the definitive bottom. Far, far from it. But long enough to find certain treasures. Some of them, he thought, were possible clues as to what was hiding at the bottom.
