Barry is a pretty plain and normal dragon. He's just a regular guy, he and his mate work with their brother-in-law, he's a scientist, he's got a few levels in fighter... And he's one of the most powerful necromancers to just be a casual necromancer working to catch other necromancers.

Barry started dabbling in necromancy as a young dragon as a casual hobby, because it was interesting. No one ever really took him seriously, but he has designed some of the advancements that let him and his mate extend their lifespans-- and got them in trouble with Kravitz, their brother-in-law, and by extension, the Raven Queen. Along with helping save the planar system, Kravitz had to put in a word with the Raven Queen to determine that Barry's knowledge of necromancy could be useful to their cause.
