Мертвая was born a small and sickly wyrmling. He was barely able to stand on his feet during his wyrmling years. His arms and tail weren't strong enough to swim.
He was kind though, constantly worrying himself even as a wyrmling over his brothers and sisters. He watched them from afar, with curious but worried eyes.
Even he made mistakes though. His brother, Leviathan, was malicious, and he should have known better than to trust him.
As a young teen, barely older then a child, he took the bait. He stepped into the water, following his brother's soft glow and encouragements.
As soon as he was deep enough, he was swept away by the current. He couldn't fight back against it, and it carried him easily. His brother simply turned his back and swam away, not caring enough to help him.
He ended up in the colder waters, shaded by the tall trees of the shadow region. By the time he was there, he was too weak to try and swim up for air. He let himself lay among the seaweed, and the sand, losing body heat rapidly. He was cold, but too weak to swim up, even if he wanted to.
