CRIMSONSEA
Crimsonsea is the shadow that lurks in the night and the blood red moon that haunts the sky as it rises from the crimson sea.

Bloodmoon Dancer
Stars murmured above the weeping hatchling, falling from the stormy skies with streaks of lightning. It sizzled upon the black tulip meadow below, scattering flaming petals into the wind. Shielding her dying sister with her wings, Crimsonsea startled at the sudden flashes of fire, gritting her teeth as they rained on her scales. Biting back her pain, the little dragon forced herself to embrace it, knowing she deserved it.
“Why?” she wailed to the raging winds, staring at her blood-stained claws in horror.
They felt cold. She felt so, very cold…
The dying figure in front of her was her playful sister, Tide, who always had a mischievous glint in her eyes. That cheerful look was gone, replaced by a dull, hollow expression. She was always borrowing with one thing or another, trying to stifle a giggle at the lender’s furious expression. Withering with pain, the wounded dragon moaned, spitting blood from her throat she struggled to speak.
"Save your strength," Crimsonsea insisted, draping her wing over her sister’s affectionately.
Their eyes met for a brief moment, yet it seemed to drag on for eternity. Tide’s were filled with sorrow and disappointment the way it had never been before.
“I- I’m sorry,” the skydancer murmured, looking away.
“It’s not like you killed me with a single touch,” Tide managed to joke, putting her paws over her sister’s.
“Tide! This isn’t the time for your lame jokes! You’re dying for goodness sake!” Crimsonsea let out a furious scream, lightning crackling in her eyes.
The young dragon sighed in resignation, forcing a weak smile onto her face. She heaved a shuddering breath, her whole body trembling with effort.
“I- I love you, little one” Tide whispered in a hoarse voice, her tail twitching before going still.
This was the sister who had shared secrets with her all night, who made lame jokes when she was lonely, and who fought off bullies with a savage fierceness. This was the sister who always loved her even as Lilith watched life fade from her eyes. This was the sister who she killed. Gone…
Forever...

Harbinger of Death

“Murderer! Traitor!” Fearful growls arose from the surrounding dragons, drowning out Crimonsea’s empty lies.
“Please,” she whimpered, hardly knowing what she was begging for.
She reached out to her clanmates desperately, her talons trembling uncontrollably. She scanned the crowd, hoping for a hint of sympathy from anyone. Anyone at all…
She glanced at her parents, hope shimmering within. If only they’ll listen. If only they’ll believe her. If only they loved her as much as they loved Tide.
“I’m sorry,” her mother muttered, shedding a tear as she looked away.
Crimsonsea gasped. Her mother never cried before. At least, not in front of her.
“W-what have I done?” she mewled with horror, hardly daring to watch as her quiet father moved to comfort his mate.
The two of them put their heads together, muttering in hushed tones.
“Mother? Father?” Lilith ventured, fear glazing her eyes.
“Don’t touch me,” her mother snarled, shoving her away. “A murdering daughter is no daughter of mine.”
Her father muttered in his mate’s ear, and they left without a backwards glance. One by one, the remaining dragons backed away, terror flooding their eyes. As the panicked dragons fled, Crimsonsea caught one phrase from their horrified screams.
"Harbinger of Death."
