Focused, stubborn, optimistic

Taliesin is no longer among the living world, that much is obvious. If the visible bones, parchment-thin skin, and ratty feathers doesn't tip others off, his peculiarly musty scent will.

In life, Taliesin was obsessed with research on flowers. He wanted to catalog and preserve as much information as possible, and he personally named many species not known to dragonkind. His travels became slower and less productive as years passed, however, as his Gembond condition progressed and calcified more and more of his body. He breathed his last in the middle of a huge cataloging project, leaving most of his life's work unfinished. His comrades were reluctant to disturb his workstation, and left it as is. Much to their shock, he stumbled back into their research facility several days later, looking much worse for the wear. He was only partly lucid, but he very much wanted to continue where he left off.

No one is sure how Taliesin rose from the grave with most of his mind intact. Perhaps he was so eager to finish his life's dream that his soul refused to leave its mortal shell. In any case, it's extended his time on Sornieth indefinitely, provided that he takes care of what body he has left. He takes great care in oiling his leathery skin and preening his feathers, preserving it for as long as possible.
