The Grounded Alpha

Where Raspberry leads by example, Gwyndor leads by rules. He's the first to implement new laws and quick to punish those who break it. He's very old-fashioned, and initially looks down on members of other flights (specifically Light and Arcane, the two opposites of Shadow). He's slow to trust but is a fierce ally, and never abandons the members of his clan.

When Raspberry leaves on adventures, Gwyndor is left in charge, which puts a lot of clanmates in bitter moods. He demands respect and gets it from everybody - although some more grudgingly than others. Younglings look up to him and aspire to be as strong and powerful as he one day, although many queens in the clan frown upon that ideology.

Despite having a strong personality, a distinct inability to determine when he has offended other dragons, and maybe just a touch of a Napoleon complex, Gwyndor will protect that which he sees as his until he dies. Scattered Scale is not just a clan to him, but his family. He might seem grumpy and growl at hatchlings when they play too close to his nest, but he knows the promise they have for the future of the clan, and believes that growling at them builds not just character but instills a respect for him in their mind.

Raspberry disagrees.

Gwyndor initially hated the idea of Raspberry being his Charge, and that being the end of his Search. He thought there was no way two complete opposites could learn to live together in harmony, especially for the rest of his life. For a long time, he refused to declare his Search at an end. Raspberry traveled with him for a long time, determined to help him find his Charge.

After countless moons, several seasons, and more than one grand adventure, Gwyndor was starting to...feel things. The thought made him shudder until he sat and thought about it more, and finally decided that it wasn't too bad. He finally, publicly, declared his Search at an end, and it was the most public display of affection that he will ever make. Yes, he promises.

On one of their adventures, when they were venturing a little too close to a Beastclan's territory, he met his Familiar. The Skirmisher and he got into a wrestling match, and he was thoroughly impressed by the fact that the Skirmisher not only held his own but refused to yield. They tired each other out, and it was Raspberry who suggested that he join them. Gwyndor and his Familiar are more alike than many other dragons and theirs - both of them hate feelings, and love to fight, and that's really all that matters, isn't it?

He loves rules, and dislikes seafood.
