Biography

Calyx has a bit of a creepy vibe, and being a Plague dragon doesn't help with this. His creepiness is less about making people deliberately uncomfortable and more about having some gross hobbies. Calyx loves watching the process of decay and considers himself a scientist, keeping rotting samples in his den and studying them. He and Belantsea share this interest and are close friends. His work sometimes aligns with Metanoia's, so the two will babble happily together in chemistry/biology jargon whenever they get the chance.

While his putrefying interests are a bit of an oddity, he's also very helpful to the clan because of them. For example, when a dragon is very sick, they'll bring in Calyx and ask for his opinion. They proceed to do the exact opposite of what he recommends, and the patient usually recovers quite quickly.

His biggest gift, though, is his affinity for composting. While many dragons are more used to foraging for plant matter than growing it on their own, his clan-mates Seaglass and Anoushka use his compost all of the time for their gardening work. Seaglass has praised Calyx's work enough to his fellow bonsai enthusiasts that the Coatl's compost is starting to get quite a following!
