______ The two of them were like two leaves in the wind, dancing in the ever present currents of the Windswept Plateau. They were skydancers after all, they were made for the air, to dip and dive with every breeze and every fluctuation of the wind. It was the only thing they knew, to float, never touching the ground, forever locked in an intricate exchange. Courtship. The word felt right in her mind. She could sense her partner—Jiro—felt the same. And they danced, never stopping for they could both sense that the other was not quite satisfied. And when one would grow weary, they would draw on the wild rush of the wind to sustain themselves. Aura had never felt more powerful, the roaring storm rushing through her veins, flooding every inch of her body with pure, unrestrained energy. Aura didn’t know how long they remained up there. But finally, their movements in tandem, they descended.

______ They stood atop one of the sheer cliffs of the Reedcleft Ascent. Aura could see everything.
