Esmeralda was discovered in the desert, wearing heavy gold jewelry. SHe's unusually enlightened, violent, and competitive, but no one is quite sure why...

Esmeralda, shortly after being born to a clan that valued memories, had the old leader's memories, since he was dying, transferred into her small brain, and those of the leader before him, and so on.
The clan was warlike. Esmeralda, recently enlightened, had no interest in training to be the next leader under a corrupt regent who wanted her power for himself, and made up her mind to leave. She killed the regent and all of the advisors, stole the most valuable gold from the clan, and escaped into the chill desert winds.
When the Rain Shadow Guild found her, she pretended to be innocent, lost, a dragonet separated from her parents with no memories of anything before... but in reality, Esmeralda is just waiting. For what? Not even she knows that. All she knows is that it will be big, violent, and bloody- and she'll be ready.
