The Prince of Darkness has his eye on a holy prize...

______ A prince in his own right, but a herald of bloody skies first. Maleun was born to feed off the life force of his dragonkin, a monster in their eyes, but an artist in his own - he had their lives in his hands, free to do as he pleased, was there anything more beautiful? Apparently there was, in the form of a holy prince wandering into his lair to ask if he could study him. Maleun was more than tempted to slay him on the spot, he was hungry but, there was something about the idea of being studied that intrigued him. Maybe that was what compelled him to say yes to the insistent guardian that wouldn't have taken no for an answer anyways.

______ He'd allowed the strange dragon to do as he wished, liking the attention, but quickly finding that he was being critiqued, rather than studied. 'Your feathers are unlike any color I've seen before on a dragon of your kind...I'm unsure as to how much I prefer it,' and, 'You are a dragon, and a vampire, you could have anything you please, and yet you seclude yourself to this crumbling abode?' Though the criticisms were quickly washed away with a rapid fire line of questioning into the effects of blood as a primary diet, how their kind was created, how does one turn...Maleun was offended at first, then quickly overwhelmed. The guardian should fear him, not see him as some subpar specimen.

______ It was after days of arguments and bickering that the guardian's investigation seemingly came to a close, but the curious prince wasn't done with Maleun just yet. Apparently it was to their mutual benefit if the vampire went with Illiyin. Why Maleun agreed, he doesn't know to this day - all it ended up being was a one way flight to dozens of experiments, hours of sitting there while the other dragon took notes, it was all insufferable. Yet while he doesn't know why he did it, the dragon is most certainly glad he did, as otherwise he would have never found his true mate. Maleun is by no means a good dragon, he's done terrible things for no other reason than amusement, but perhaps the presence of light in his life will do him some good.
