The sea was quiet and had lulled Sage to sleep hours ago, her traveling companion Alistair at her side. She awoke with a start when the small merchant ship they had paid for the ride, came to a sudden stop with the sound of wood grinding against the wood. She perked up and listened to the sound of the ocean and the muttered words of those outside their cabin. Suddenly the handle was turned and the face of the captain peered in, "We reached the first stop. Avonna Island. If you want to stretch your legs before night, do it now. I have business to attend to at the pub. If you want they also have rooms there if this is too cramped for you."
"Thank you Captain. I think we'll wait here till morning. If what you said about night around here is true, we'll just wait till you take off in the morning," Alistair sleepy muttered. Sage waited till she couldn't hear footsteps behind the door and turned to her friend, "Can we please get off this ship. I nice bed and a walk along the beach before the sun goes down sounds divine." She nudged him hoping to get Alistair to his feet but he just sighed, "This really isn't the type of town for sight seeing." He tried to ignore her big puppy eyes but the fact that she kept shoving her face in his to annoy him made it incredibly difficult. "Fine," The male Guardian said in defeat, "But if the beds have bugs we're coming back to sleep here."
