Founding matron of the Zephyr Gaoler subspecies of the Wind Flight.

Zephyr Gaolers use their strong Wind magic and physical might to hunt and combat The Shade within The Windswept Plateau.

To wipe out signs of The Shade from The Windswept Plateau and protect both it and its denizens from being further tainted by it.

To keep The Windswept Plateau beautiful and lively, free of dark forces for all time.

Spread throughout the peaceful Windswept Plateau are a group of Gaolers unlike their Ice Flight relatives. These massive dragons do not adhere to the strict and lackluster way of life that many of their breed do, and instead have their own culture, tailored to life in the Wind Flight. Free-spirited and courageous, they are the Zephyr Gaolers.

Zephyr Gaolers have adapted to blend in with their lush surroundings, camouflaging perfectly with thick swaths of bamboo and reeds. They use this to their advantage when hunting creatures that seek to harm their clan members or their land. Zephyrs also possess powerful Wind magic, which they will use freely, either in defense or just for entertainment.

All Zephyrs possess a whimsical personality much unlike others of their breed, and are known for their jovial dispositions. They love exploring, pursuing hobbies, and frolicking with members of their clans. Zephyrs are even known to collect trinkets and enjoy having possessions, which they often form sentimental attachments to.

Although Zephyr Gaolers are carefree in many ways, they have maintained the oath that all Gaolers uphold to the Icewarden. They will wander all across The Windswept Plateau in search of signs of The Shade, which they systematically wipe out and catalog. In their case, however, they swear fealty to The Windsinger, and banish The Shade in his name. It is seen as a great dishonor among the Zephyrs if one of their kind does not do their all to combat and protect The Windswept Plateau from being besmirched by that despicable darkness. If one should ever fall while fighting it, they are greatly honored and revered by their brethren as heroes.

Zephyr Gaolers form very close bonds with their clan members. Once they make a friend, they consider them as close as family, and will lay down their life for them in an instant. They are particularly fond of hatchlings, and are more than content to babysit and play with them when not busy with other matters. A resting Zephyr makes for a very good napping spot for many sleepy hatchlings, and a pretty fun jungle gym for not-so-sleepy ones.

Though Zephyrs can be found all throughout The Windswept Plateau, they're most commonly found in The Zephyr Steppes from which they get their name.
