Naza

I did not give her this name, though I do think it's a rather pretty one.


Unlike Atlas, who shares some of her troubles, she chooses to hold a grudge to her former "family". A bubbling hatred claws into her mindset as it has for so many years. As a coping mechanism, or really as she puts it, an outlet, she hunts.

Naza doesn't even eat meat, but she took a liking to the activity. She and her familiar were fending for themselves for a fair while, sharpening their skills. Jiarl, a much younger dragon, but one of incessant hunger, recognized Naza's and Atlas' skill and took them into the clan. Naza is one of Jiarl's "guard dogs", hunting under the matriarch's lead.

She had a family. She had children. But their faces are hazy and their voices are nothing but faint susurrations. A fading song hums in her heart, for ages she's forgotten it. Naza's story started in the Shifting Expanse, her eyes told her that. Yet, much of her memory has been suppressed, subconsciously or not. From what she can recall, she traveled along the edges of the Sea of A Thousand Currents after staying in the Ashfall Waste for a while.

She ended up leaving the Emberglow Hearth. She had offsprings. Dragons of her own. She wishes to recall any detail of them, but there's only silence to her woes. Her dull colors were frowned on as a bad omen, and consequently, Naza found herself shunned away from her own kind. A rage. That's all she would say about it. Anger, disappointment, and foggy despair.

She hunted, furious at everything and easily annoyed by anything. To sustain herself, she'd fish for seafood as she made her way anywhere. Just so long as it was away from the Emberglow Hearth. By the time she circled to the Tangled Woods, she reached a stage of regret and grief. She recalled little to nothing of what she's done and pushed any memory of her children to the depths of her mind.

She made a friend, a Runescar Lynx. However, he did not speak her tongue, and she felt so alone. An adolescent and that was a stretch, fought with her for a fish. Hungry, terrified, and abandoned. She took pity on the young Coatl, and took him under her wings.

Naza taught Atlas to become a hunter, an outlet of his own anger. The two formed a bond, a song of abandonment and bitter resent. Their hunt took them to the Starfall Isles, where Jiarl, a young mirror, asked them in barely understandable Coatl to hunt for her. At first, they turned her down, but Atlas admitted they were in dire need of other dragons to communicate with.

While Jiarl and the rest of the mirrors may not particularly care for interacting with them, they don't shun them for their colors. The hunt, is all that matters.

She acts as a mother to Atlas, though she'd describe it more of a teacher and apprentice dynamic. She had a fling with Abstrusus, this time she cares for her children. They're not too intimate, but they keep each other in comfortable silence. She fights and hunts as one of Jiarl's loyal "dog" alongside with the rest of the first page.

Naza avoids the fifth page, Cucumis brings such an unholy disdain, on both her own and the other Coatl.
