The past was a blur. Sometimes, in the mornings he could recall bits and pieces of it, tiny flashes of memories that never took hold for longer than the sleep to leave his eyes. He could remember walking through The Tangled Woods, alone. One of the kids in the orphanage had grown sick, and he had been told to look for some flower the herbalist needed to cure her. He remembers feeling... agitated? Guess he couldn't find the bloom.

No... he did find it. A single flower hanging at the edge of some weird dark pit. It probably wasn't anything out of the ordinary. The Tangled Woods were known to create dark shadowy things, so a black pit was probably ok. He could easily pick the flower without risk. He was nimble enough. The most dextrous boy at the orphanage! He reached forward, and gently plucked the flower up safely.

Gobbledygook could feel the memories slowly fade as the sun started to appear over the mountains.

NO! He HAD to remember! He needed to know what happened! A noise? A rumble of some sort? did it say anything? There was a pressure on his back pushing him down. They were gone yet again.

Gobbledygook opened his eyes carefully. Dissapointment washing over him as he realized he once again woke up without his memories intact.

"You alright, sweetie?" The mirror raised his head up to meet eyes with the small fae, Gibberish. The queen of the lair, and the closest thing Gobbledygook could call a mother figure. She tilted her head, a concerned frown on her face. "The.. 'memories' again?"

"yeah, I think so. I just... Still cant remember once I wake up"

"Maybe its for the better!" The fae replied. "You looked really distressed just now before you woke up. Whatever this memory is, I think you would prefer to live without it."

"aha, I guess"
