Once, a lost Imperial was found coming down from the top of the Clloudscape Crags, her name forgotten to all but her. Her name was Lannwit, which meant "Silent Cat," for as her paws hit the ground, no sound could be heard even from the creatures with the best hearing. None remember this story. Just that she was muttering, "bury the sorrow in bones, move on."

Another time, she was spotted in the abiding boneyard, wandering as though utterly hopeless through a vast wasteland. There, she had met a strong Guardian named Yyggdras and had a few eggs. Then, a disease spread through the clan, killing everyone but her. She went mostly mad from survivor's guilt and left the bones of her friends and family stacked in a pile, so high she nearly couldn't breathe when placing the last bones on the top.

She learned that the sickness had not been natural at all, but caused by the Plaguebringer while she was testing her potion in the Wyrmwound, and vowed never to go into that realm again. She remembered the pulsing bodies, their flesh eaten from the inside, their hearts enlarging, battling the lungs for space, until, finally, they could hold their breath no longer, and they died, the sickness still eating their bodies. move on.

Then she went to the Mirrorlight Promenade, hoping to start a good life, find something good for herself. Maybe become a philosopher, learn all she could about everything. But, again, it was not to be. She had found another, an Imperial, and they were happy, had many eggs. But, when another came and forced her out, he was killed in a fight.

She always remembered his last words. "I love you, so much," he had said. More than Yyggdras, but less heartfelt. It was just more of the same. Bury the sorrow in bones, move on. She always did this.

A SHADOW

____She was found last in the Driftwood Drag by a dragon who was wandering the woods.

PIRATES

____Next, she was found on the beach by pirates. They took her into their group, and they raided many villages, kidnapped whichever lovely dragons they could find, and generally had a good time. But, the boat sank in a terrible storm, all the dragons and treasure and food they had sank to the bottom, all but her.

EMBERS

____Then, she walked alone to the Emberglow Hearth. She made a life, but a solitary one. The only dragon she talked to was a hansom young fellow named Ashflow. He kept on bothering her, and they fell in love on accident.
But, again, he died. The cave she lived in was burning, a stray flow of lava melting through the rock. She and Ashflow had hurried out. But, then, he went back for something. And another flow melted through the entrance wall. She reached towards him, but her arm flinched back as the lava came closer. "Run! They won't stop!" were his last words. She didn't understand them until she saw the black, molten dragon come out, scales smoking. It reached towards her trying to claw her, scar her with the same molten rock that had crumbled it's soul. Bury the sorrow in ashes, move on.

WISHES

____Comepletely broken, she went to the Starwood Strand. She never talked to anyone, tried not to live a life more than eating and drinking. She would try to starve, to end it, but then the temptation of a squirrel running by would be too great, and she would eat it, ruining her plan. One day, there was a fire, and her wishes of living alone, but in peace, were gone.

BE FAST

____Having lost all hope, she wandered for a while, before becoming so tired that her legs, and then her wings gave in. She lay in the Carrion Canyon, dying. Her dreams of the last three years disappearing in their fulfillment.
But, then, a dragon came, took her to his lair and nursed her back to health. She lived there for the longest, fifteen years. Then, when a bolt of lightning struck the lair, crushing the caves in fallen sand. She stood where it would crush her, leave her under so much sand she would never get up. But a dragon pushed her out, sacrificing their life for hers. Bury the sorrow in ashes, move on.
