A former Plague exaltee, Pomegranate deserted. He's been hiding from the Plaguebringer's forces ever since. He left because he was accosted by his superior officers who 'liked his looks'. He killed them, faked his death, and ran. Also, being a foot-soldier is no fun for someone who likes poisons and costumes as much as Pomegranate does.
