Valstand

Valstand is hard to get along with. She speaks rarely but when she does it's usually snarky, offensive, or sarcastic. Like all Skydancers, she can read the emotions of others, but unlike other Skydancers she is unbelievably socially awkward, so this ability is wasted on her.

This unfortunate trait of hers was due in part to the fact that she was born clanless in the wilds of the Starfall Isles. Her parents were cynical and disliked other dragons, and on top of this they were mute most of the time, they would sometimes go weeks or months without uttering a word. By the time Valstand was old enough to leave, she tried joining other clans only to be promptly kicked out. Labeled as "one who doesn't play well with others" after the first few clans the rest seemed to stop accepting her into their ranks altogether. She became a hermit yet again and moved to the coast nearest the Southern Icefield, and since she liked the view of the sunset hitting the distant icecaps she remained there for quite some time.

Eventually however she became bored and lonely, she had always wanted comradery but no where would accept her. Every day was a chore, and she was unhappy. She became even more difficult to deal with; it was so bad that the clan she traded for supplies with stopped doing business with her. But soon, even in the remote region she dwelt within, word of Clan Field Well reached her. She began to prepare her things for the journey, but right as she was ready to leave she saw a small Wildclaw wash up upon her shore. She sighed and retrieved the small dragon, and nursed her back to health. When the Wildclaw awoke she was grateful, she told Valstand that her name was Ivory. Valstand told Ivory her name and that she was planning on journeying to Clan Field Well soon, offering to let the Wildclaw accompany her. Ivory accepted, and they traveled together to the clan that lay within a forest in Viridian Labyrinth. Along the way Valstand realized with a jolt that Ivory was the first friend she had ever had, after that realization she never let the Wildclaw go too far away from her sight. Even now that they are in Clan Field Well, they live together in the same den.
