Conall and his brother, Dain, were born early into the clan's history. His parents were the first dragons to join Rolen and Elona as they settled their patch of the Viridian Labyrinth. This meant that Conall and Dain were some of the first hatchlings to be born into the clean; a joyous time for all. Even more so when Conall broke out of his shell, marked with the blessing of the Gladekeeper's Gaze. It was a sign from the deity herself that this hatchling was to serve the clan as its connection to the goddess.

Had Conall not been chosen by The Gladeskeeper, he would have begun training as a warrior at a young age. Both of his parents were high in the warrior ranks of the clan, and their children would have been expected to follow in their footsteps. It would not have been an ordinary life, but maybe a childhood with less expectations would have been better for the young dragon. As soon as he was able, Conall was moved to live with the matriarch to begin learning how to become the clan's seer; the connection between them and their patron deity. Because of this, he was kept away from the other dragons his own age. When they did see him, Conall was uncomfortable with the attention he was given due to his eyes.

The one dragon he couldn't be kept apart from was his brother. Dain was his nestmate, and the two had an incredibly close bond. At first, the elders did try to keep the brothers separated, but after enough times of Dain breaking into the clan leaders' lodgings, the elders thought it best to allow the brothers to have time together. Better that than having to keep repairing all the items that were broken with each break-in.
