From a young age, Morgan was a protector. In the childhood games her and the other hatchlings would play, she loved to cast herself as a valiant knight fighting off hordes of Beastclans, or the last dragon standing against the Shade. Her daydreams became a little more realistic as she grew older, but it didn't surprise anyone when she enrolled in the clan guard. She pledged her loyalty to their king, and promised to serve him until her last breath. She spent most of her life working there, gradually rising to become the head of the guard. She helped quash rebellions, ensure order, and fought off a fair few assassins. She never really paid attention to the laws her king made, or questioned why there were so many rebellions and assassins after him. She just dealt with them effectively. It was under her watch, a few years into the job, that two assassins managed to sneak in and kill the king (as well as a number of her guard). She was torn apart by grief and guilt, made worse by the fact that the clan seemed to be flourishing without her king. Confronting the fact that she might have fought and killed in the name of a king that may have deserved to die would have been too much for her. Instead she swore vengeance of those who had killed him. In her desperation, she made a pact with a spirit, to give her the strength and endurance to find those who'd wronged her and kill them. In return, she gave it a place in her body and a means to affect the world. She found herself a supernatural tracker, a herbalist named Fai, who could lead her to the assassins. He led her to this clan, and told her that the assassins she was looking for would arrive here, and she'd be able to kill them.
