In the beginning all Dacio had was his fire. It was said that when he was hatched down in the bowels of the arena that the blast of flames that erupted from his egg fried several of the other stolen eggs that the pit masters had collected. A killer from the very moment he was born.

He was highly prized by the pit masters for his fire affinity despite having hatched from a plague egg. He was something rare, something flashy, something that buyers would pay high money for. Because of this they taught him. Taught him to speak common beastfolk tongue as well simple draconic. Taught him numbers and histories.

With each new thing he was taught his value and price increased drastically.
And finally one day, after years of learning, he was purchased for billions of treasure by the head pit master to be added to his collection. A collection of the most elite pit fighters that the arena had ever seen. A collection which included Nyxia.

She was like nothing Dacio had ever seen. In his eyes she was fury and fire incarnate and he had never seen a sight as beautiful in his life. He fell in love instantly and began teaching her how to speak properly during the long nights spent locked up in the holding cells.

As he taught her they grew closer together and even gained the attention of three other dragons in the cells. Before he knew it, they were charging through the corridors after months of planning, ripping through guards and freeing other dragons from their cells. And when they tore into the arena that dark, lif changing night, it was Dacio who soared into the sky and used his flames to brighten the darkness so that they could find their blood soaked path to freedom.

It was Dacio who shone the first rays of light on the Bloodscale Atrium.
