A lost child of the snow.

Safa was lost as a young hatchling, doomed to the Southern Icefield's bitter cold. She'd lost her parents in the endless expanse of white, futilely searching and calling out for them as the cold began to creep under her scales and the wind whipped away her calls. Eventually though, the cold had claimed the hatchling, the blizzard now covering its tracks, hiding little Safa from the world around her. With her calls echoing through the storm, everything eventually faded back to the howling of the wind as if she'd never existed in these unforgiving lands. As the storm passed, the sea of white lay in a misleading peace, hiding away its acts. Though in the quiet, the snow started to shift and a small snout poked out. After a small pause, a pale, tiny, slender body pulled itself from under the snow, its eyes pinned closed from the blinding sun and glare of the pristine white land. Shaking itself off of the cold powder, it seems unbelievably frail but still holds its own weight as it finally opens its eyes. Its eyes contrasted with its pale body, a pale blue catching the sunlight. Looking around, it lets out a small confused cry. Seeming lost, it sniffles slightly before small snowflakes start to slowly drift down from its eyes, it seeming to show no signs of stopping. Not having anywhere to go, it began to wander the icefields, calling out to those it'd lost. Some traveling dragons believe they've seen this ghostly hatchling wandering aimlessly but upon approaching, all that would be heard is an echoing sorrowful cry. So that's what they named it.
