Bootleg

When Belila found Bootleg he was on the brink of death, and it would have been kinder had she left him.

Bootleg is not his true name, though he could not tell you what it was before his rebirth. He remembers nothing before Belila stumbled upon him, bleeding out in the desert from a claw-induced throat wound.

Now, Belila had never been known for her kindness or charity, however she saw potential in the young mirror as he thrashed in the sand. Acting quickly, she infected him heavily, injecting Herself into his veins and twisting his mind at a whim. His wound instantly closed and he was marked with her sigul, marking him as her's.

His bones and flesh twisted and elongated, horns breaking from his skull and his eyes widening into manic slits. Their minds linked, his body shifted to match her's, and he knew only pure devotion to his matriarch. Because of the link between them, he knows where she is at all times and whether or not she has been hurt. He remembers things that even she doesn't; because of how fast he was forced to intake her memories, he became unstable. His mood shifts erratically; one second he's self-destructive and the next, he's flitting around and pranking the other dragons.

During their first cult meeting together, he found that he could cast hallucinations over the attendees. She was, of course, thrilled to learn of his special talent and promoted him to her second-in-command. Belila dresses him in all the finest garbs (much to his chagrin) in order for him to make the best impression.

It didn't take long for him to fall hopelessly in love with her, but he dares not tell her for fear of rejection. It tears away at him that she will never reciprocate even a fraction of his feelings. As far as Bootleg is concerned, Belila is nothing less than a goddess and insulting her is a quick way to find yourself with a few more scars. That is, if you're lucky enough to survive.

Despite being the heaviest infected of them all, Belila does not need to physically control him. He serves her with a passion and doesn't hesitate to do anything she asks-from murder to giving gifts to strengthen clan bonds. If she asked, he would gladly maim himself to please her, and has in the past. He gave himself a Cheshire Grin to match hers not long after he was reborn.

Bootleg sees sounds in colour and frequently refers to people by the colour of their voice. When he isn't protecting Belila or inflicting hallucinations on others in order to grow her cult, he's usually found knitting or making music. He's taken pity on a variety of future unwilling exalts and has found them homes. He's obsessed with fractals and spirals, constantly trying to find a link between them and the living world.

He does not handle it well when Belila abandons him.
