we of above, the holy and true
we of below, the damned and the bruised
we of between, the brittle and wise
we of the void, lost to the divide.
we are the ones that will answer the call
when all is but lost to the weight of it all.
those who returned, bore arms fierce and bold
here lies the pieces of stories foretold.
The spirits are gone.
They are alive, of course. They answer prayers, still - only one in every million, of course, but they still do.
That's what all the people say.
But Glakila is a warrior born from the corpses of titans, her muzzle formed of drifting starlight and blue-red fire, her eyes dark hollows that twist knives deep, deeper into infinity. Her primary wings are formed of moons and mist; her secondary wings of madness.
And she does not believe in deities.
Glakila is many things. She is a queen, an explorer, a warrior, a figher. An agent of impossibility, dawning and regal in the dying light.
Some whisper she was born in the heart of a supernova. And it's true, but then again—don't make it sound holy, beautiful.
Because what poets call supernovae are just the deaths of stars.
