Directly next to Vice’s Spices and Sundries, you’ll find a small hookah lounge run by a man named Darius. He’s quiet, not just because of a previous injury that left him unable to speak, but because he’s simply that way. The place is generally just as quiet, preferring a more relaxed atmosphere and people are welcome to spend hours chatting, playing games, lounging or eating. You’re also welcome to chat with him provided you know sign language or don’t mind reading from a small notepad, and some come to him for advice though he doesn’t feel qualified to dole it out. Maybe people just need someone to talk to at times, he thinks. Darius’ life has never been easy, but here at least he feels safe. There’s the man who saved him from certain death, the person that helped him on his way, and another that gave him a small portion of revenge all living in one place. That and Hawk asked Vice to look after him. Darius isn’t exactly sure about Vice’s...well entire person, really, but he certainly looks after his own. Knowing you’re neighbors with a man that doesn't mind blood between his teeth does lift some worry. He came here on a stroke of luck, he thought, having picked up one of Indrid’s promotional fliers and recognising some of the names. When he found out it wasn’t luck, exactly, but that something had pushed her to mail it to his location he asked for help finding his children, now all flung to the winds. She couldn’t (her ‘gifts’ don’t really work like that), but he still holds hope that maybe they’re okay. He’ll keep looking, though he’s not sure if they’d want to talk to him. -Doesn't know that Iosefka is keeping an eye on his kids and doesn't want to tell him out of fear of interfering. Interfering too much when you're a seer can lead to some bad consequences, after all. -He was surprised to learn how many people around here knew sign, and can talk to almost every resident easily. -Learned that March was most of the reason people learned sign from Weyland. Darius isn't sure how to feel about either android aside from that they seem like decent people? - (Darius absolutely does not realize how much back up he now has, especially considering that March does feel some kinship with him.)
