Jericho was a country boy from the moment he was born. His mother Annio and adopted mother Sesto couldn't keep him out of the mud and dirt, and even a a youngster he was herding ducklings around the garden and planting all sorts of things to see if they'd grow (most of them didn't). As a teenager he picked up a farmhand job at Qidiq's ranch, and fell in love with the hard work and the long hours. He was eventually promoted to oversee all of the livestock on the ranch, and helps to raise them for meat, materials, and other resources to benefit the Clan and to trade with other clans. Once a year he and Qidiq head to the Sornieth Fair with their prize animals and crops, and usually they come home with at least one blue ribbon. He was energetically courted by Andelace the seamstress (and, after a time, eventually returned her affections), and the two share a farmhouse on the edge of the ranch which doubles as a bed n' breakfast for those looking to spend a weekend away from the bustle of life and in the tranquil warm air of the ranch. |
