Acrypia is a bustling and vast city, warm and welcome -- much unlike the icy citadel to the south, with its militant governing spirit. Like Unsol, Acrypia is both the name of the embodying spirit and the city. The spirit that guards Acrypia is less pragmatic in its methods and ruling, taking into account the culture and abstract qualities to its denizen's personalities. It does not possess dragons to conscript guards, unlike Unsol, but annoints its leaders and protectors by judging the purity of their heart and strength of their resolve.
Acrypia has a diverse population of dragons due to this system, whereas in Unsol its large population of pearlcatchers is due to the fact that their souls can be preserved upon possession by being transferred to their pearl. Acrypia also allows its denizens to come and go; they are not confined to the city. The spirit of Acrypia draws its magical power from the arcanic energy generated by the Crystalspine Reaches, which are within view of the city's walls. It does not need to draw on the energy of its citizens this way.
Acrypia specializes in trade and tourism; its scenic location off the coast of the Crystalspine Reaches draws many. It has grandious and tall architecture, starting with the central market filled to the brim with eateries, artisans, and the like. Outward toward the border of the town are residential areas, taverns, and schools. Outside the city borders are both pink sanded beaches and lush woodland, dotted with flowered pastures and orchards. At the far head of the City lies the castle -- an expression of beautiful artistic arches and spires, both breathtaking and impregnable with its heavily guarded battlements and parapets. It's also regarded as a safe place to gaze upon Unsol's citadel through telescope, as the city rests upon a large stretch of floating ice to the north of the Southern Icefield. It is quite close to Acrypia, being a two-day's journey away via boat. Travelling by flight is not reccommended to unfurred and non-ice natives, as flying-range temperatures become deadly cold near the winter fortress. Whiteout blizzards also heavily obstruct vision, which is dangerous among the jagged peaks of ice and stone marking the route.
