Quiet * Generous * Contemplative

Elysia is still learning to be comfortable in his new skin. Sometimes she feels like a girl and sometimes he wants to be seen as a boy. However, he is always in the mood for eating unique and exotic foods – whether it's during of VaLumo’s tea, snacks brought back by Phantasma, or something he makes himself (he’s getting better at it!)

As the resource manager, he tracks all supplies – both work and leisure related. He's the one with his ear to the ground, making sure the clan never runs short of critical items whether it's capacitors or blankets.

Having three brothers that look almost exactly like you can be trying at the best of times. Getting called by one of your brothers’ names was only the beginning of it really. From a young age, Elysia was lumped in with her brothers, which honestly wasn’t much of a problem in those early years because of how close they were.

However, as she grew it became sort of…upsetting to be treated as part of a unit and not as an individual in her own right. The worst thing was that the only way to be treated as individual was to be separate from her brothers, which was huge and terrifying. The possibility of leaving, which was ignorable when she was small, was starting to become unignorable.

As the days passed and she grew older that urge got stronger and stronger, until her days were filled with a desire to never be called by any name other than own – to be around dragons who know not to give her shellfish when there are proper fish around. Dragons who would talk to her about exotic foods instead of familiars or whatever one of her brothers was interested in. Dragons who would see her for herself.

When she first proposed leaving, her family insisted on her joining one of their ally clans. They just didn’t get that she wanted a place where she could start fresh. So, fed up with no one listening, she announce her departure and obstinately ignored her families pleas to stay.

Elysia signed onto Calix doing grunt work hauling water. Once she passed the trial period, she was offered a special modification from Leanan. Specifically, Elysia was offered to improve her strength and endurance to help her with pulling the full sled back from the oasis. For someone like Elysia, being offered abilities beyond what any dragon could naturally achieve was overwhelmingly attractive. She agreed immediately.

However, she didn't actually get to use her newfound strength much, because shortly after her procedure the engineers completed the Waterworks. Suddenly out of a job, she was approached by Hirluin, the resource manager, to be her assistant.

Hirluin’s work was far more interesting than the grunt work Elysia had been doing. She fell into the role of assistant very easily since she was naturally very organized and enjoyed fiddly, detail-oriented work. She loved being the key player in making sure people had the things they needed in order to get their own jobs done. People depended on her. People needed her. Even her strength modifications were beneficial; she could carry all sorts of heavy equipment or furniture without any problems. Elysia was barely fully trained when Hirluin stepped down from her role in favor of being the Chief of Ethics and Elysia took full weight of responsibility beautifully.

Elysia knew her clan members had been getting sick. The treatment had been very hush-hush, so she only learned about the procedure after she had sickened enough that her already pale plumage had been leeched of all color. Apparently, it was something about DNA damage and mis-repair. It wasn't her specialty so the only thing she really got out of it was that she would need a new body - one that was modified in the egg to survive the disease.

Growing up a second time was both better and worse than the first time. Once the confusion and memory gaps were cleared up, it was really just a waiting game. She didn't have any siblings to compete with or annoy her. All her friends treated her normally and pleanty of her work was cerebral rather than physical, so it really wasn't that big of a deal.

Honestly, it would have been downright boring if it weren't for the fact that she came back as the wrong gender. At first it was a bit startling to see a stranger in the mirror, because the body didn't actually feel all that different. After enough time passed, he eventually looked at himself and thought ‘Well, I guess I'm a boy now, so I might as well be the best boy I can be.’

Remembering his brothers, he decided to try the things that they seemed to enjoy. The boring games his brothers used to play didn't magically start to interest him just because he was the same gender as them now. However, he found that he liked it being referred to as male quite a bit. Dressing in a more masculine style and joining some of the guys in the lair on their casual nights in was really nice. He settled very comfortably into his new skin.

Even though he really enjoyed his new body, he still found himself missing some aspects of being a lady. The girls nights with Welthom, Suzuran, and Williow were always fun. He also missed dressing up in silks jewels. When he voiced this disappointment to Suzuran, she laughed at him for thinking that he was somehow unable to dress however he pleased to and set to putting together an outfit for him. It was during the consultation process that he realized that it wasn't the silks he missed but rather being – and being seen as – feminine.

Elysia didn't have to choose. She didn't want to choose, but right then she wanted to be a lady.
