As you gingerly pick your way through the Hewn City, you begin to wonder whether the dusky twilight will ever end. Is this not the domain of the Lightweaver? How could there possibly be so much shadow in the domain of the goddess of Light? Just as you begin to face the fact that you might, just maybe, be hopelessly lost, you hear a gentle, melodic crooning.

Feeling a sudden rush of hope, you begin to follow the music. Gradually, a soft, warm light begins to wend its way through the mist of the City. The closer you get, the surer you are that you're nearing your destination.
When the City opens up to a large, open glade, you know you've found the demesne of the Archaieos.

Archaieos is a clan of archeologists, artists, musicians, historians, and travelers. Defined in large part by the advanced age of each of the clan members, the sum total of draconic knowledge found within this clan can hardly be rivaled! You've traveled far to visit and learn from them.

Upon seeing you, the music abruptly ceases.

"Ho! A guest!" cries the Pearlcatcher responsible for the music you heard. He comes up to you, happily flouncing whiskers and tail. "Be welcome - come, listen to our tales, feast at our banquet, and be one of the family for a day and a night!"

VeVickers, as you come to find the Pearlcatcher is named, takes you around to meet some of the notable dragons of the clan. You discover that VeVickers himself is the clan Storyteller and Musician - due to these skills, he tends to preside over all clan festivals and holidays, the New Year included. He's immensely fond of parables, being firm in the belief that valuable life lessons might be learned through them.

Council
6WHYHFR.png

Though all members of Archaieos have the opportunity to speak and be part and parcel of decision-making in the clan, the eldest dragons have grown into the role of advisors and counselors. Acacesia and Chrysoprase are the Clan Leaders, and as such, they ensure that all voices are heard equally and given ample consideration.

#2404
Acacesia, Founder of Archaieos, Clan Leader.

Primarily manages intra-clan affairs and oversees all clan projects to fruition. The "dragon behind the curtain," Acacesia primarily leads from the background and gives each clan member a high degree of personal freedom.

6441p.png
#6441
Chrysoprase, Mate of Acacesia, Consort Clan Leader.

Chrys handles the day-to-day organization of the Clan. Where Acacesia guides Archaieos through the larger decisions, Chrys fills in the small, logistical gaps in between. Not sure who to ask for more quills for your history project? Just ask Chrys.

#90210
Pleiades, Navigator, Lithomancer.

Pleiades using the Stars of the Sky and Stones of the Earth to guide the clan across Sornieth. She divines the most favorable currents and tracks the climate to keep everyone safe and ensure easy travels.

85205p.png
#85205
Kithairon, Mate of Pleiades, Tracker, Shaman.

Kithairon excels at reading the lay of the land. He is able to do some minor magic (primarily dowsing - whether that be for water, mineral deposits, or archeological sites), but generally leaves most of the flashy business to others. He often acts as sort of priest, providing spiritual support to the clan. He has an excellent relationship with Sornieth's natural spirits.

53891p.png
#53891
Portal, Artist, Dreamer

Portal always had trouble staying grounded - he is a first generation dragon, and thus lacked the roots most have. He seeks to find his own identity and to establish the world around him through art. He enjoys recreating images of ancient civilisations based on fragments uncovered by the clan.

52902p.png
#52902
Forkjoleth, Adjudicator, Justice

Forjoleth records and studies the laws of Sornieth, the laws of the Clan, and acts as an intermediary during times of conflict. He handles issues both internal to Archaieos, as well as disputes between clans. Other clans frequently come to seek his advice.

83515p.png
#83515
Gabriel, Arborist

Though he came from a Light egg, Gabriel was hatched in the midst of the Everbloom Gardens. He is a deeply peaceful soul who uses his innate Light magic to nurture and grow herbs, spices, and decorative plants for the clan. He has had success reviving fossilized seeds.

25177p.png
#25177
Qanuk, Warleader and Huntress

Qanuk was born to a clan in deep conflict with the Beast Clans. She is brave and fierce, and uses her skills to protect those she calls family.

Cirrus & Tephra, Cartographers, Explorers

For all they've a weakness for finery, Cirrus & Tephra's true joys lie in discovering new lands, new archeological sites or ruins, and piecing together bits of history. They prefer hands-on work, though are best suited to more delicate jobs (such as extracting small fossils or putting together pottery fragments).

They have a soft spot for geography, and enjoy mapping the current lay of the land and comparing it to how it might have been thousands of years ago. They frequently bicker of the impact of specific geographical formations on the development of ancient civilisations. The agricultural boom is of particular note to them, particularly in how it affected cities far from arable land.
