Starcatcher hatched from a lone egg in the Starwood Strand late at night, and was immediately exposed to the beauty of the stars and the night sky. Her very scales seemed to sparkle like the stars, and she was in awe with it all, the sky, the wood, and herself. Though most Pearlcatchers have a pearl that they carry with them through life, Starcatcher has a small sculpture of Sornieth that seems almost alive as if it had been animated with some kind of magic. She carries the globe with her everywhere, even to this day.

Though she doesn't need the globe for her gift of prophecy, she often keeps it close and studies it for a sort of inspiration, as she listens to the prophecies she says are given to her by the stars. Though perfectly content with living on her own, she claims she got an ominous prophecy that directed her to the Driftwood Drag, where she found Daydream's Clan. She asked to stay, offering her gifts to the Clan founder, and Daydream agreed.
