Starrunner

Once, in the midst of a nest buried in a tree trunk, flowing with an an eldritch liquid, a glowing egg, not of any Flight known to the dragons of Sornieth hatched. A small Guardian, speckled with glowing stars came out. Her wings were blue with vines of purple leaves. The ridges on her horns glowed with a light the color of Whispwillow Grove's mushrooms. A bubbly blue stain covered her head to her shoulders. Grace flowed through the creature, even in her young and floppy state. She quickly learned to use her legs, though every so often she would flop over in the dark water that filled her nest. She leaped over the side, splatting wetly on the moss outside it. She looked back to see if anything else was in the nest, and saw one egg, lying still. There was a crack in it's shell, just barely visible above the slime. The tiny dragon, only alive for a few hours, felt a deep sense of loss for the sister that could have been. She turned and bounded away from the nest, in the direction of voices. Then she skidded to a halt when she saw a fully black dragon, huge and sharp clawed, but with a pair of tiny wings. Between those wings, the dragon held a cluster of five eggs. As she watched, a pink dragon the same size and shape came up and spoke to the dragon in a low tone. The dark dragon replied nervously, and the two continued speaking in this manner.
